Jesus Annointed by a Sinful Woman. Luke 7: 36-50 (Read the full story, I’m just pulling bits & pieces!)
“As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them”
Jesus says, “You did not give me a kiss, but this woman from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet.”
This woman has not stopped kissing my feet.
“Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven, as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little. Then Jesus said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven… Your faith has saved you, go in peace”
This woman has not stopped Kissing my feet.
Jesus wants us. Jesus wants women who have been broken and who cannot contain themselves with Thankfulness and Joy and Love for the Gospel. No one else would tolerate this sinful woman uncontrollably kissing their feet, but Jesus loves her and welcomes her. He excludes no one from the Gospel, no woman, but especially not this sinful woman; She was written about in the Gospels and she was was in such a close proximity to Jesus.
I’m okay with my messy sinful story if it leads me to be the type of woman who can’t stop kissing Jesus’ feet. If I find myself on the floor in an awkward situation overcome with adoration for Jesus, and he’s fully accepting me and validating me then that just changes everything.
DIY Glittery Box
Have you ever wanted to buy a glittery box, but it was just too darn expensive?
well, I was in that exact situation this morning at Paper Source. There were the cutest gift boxes, all shapes and sizes, covered in glitter! But… they were 15 dollars! I can buy at least 2 good meals, or about 4 lattes with that so I decided to make one myself instead.
I bought a $5 paper box from Paper Source but any other box lying around the house should work just as well.
I painted the top with acrylic paint and, while it was still wet, added glitter all to the top. I also decided to go with glitter capped corners instead of smothering the entire thing with glitter. I taped off the corners with masking tape to the size that I wanted them and then painted and put glitter on the wet corners. Now I have an adorable glittery box and I can use it to store paint, jewelry, candy, or give it as a gift! What an easy way to be creative!
materials needed: paint, a box, masking tape, lots of glitter!
My new favorite color is the color of her dress.

I lean not on my own understanding, my life is in the Hands of the Maker of Heaven.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you Rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find Rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden in light.
Living with Open Hands
Living with open hands means being able to recieve and to let go.
When I think about my life, I see how I need transition and change but I have trouble letting go of things. I cling on to certain ideas and standards and relationships are really not mine to be clutching so tightly. I find myself both literally and metaphorically carrying a thousand things around at once. Even if they have no value or purpose in the direction that I am going. I need to learn to let go and reduce my worries in the world. If I truly believe in the Lord’s will and soverignty I do not need to obsess or try to prepare for life’s catastrophes. God’s hand is on my life and the lives of those around me and I can’t speed up or control his processes.
So, palms up.
